{Review & Giveaway} Ears 2 You 2 - CLOSED

Meagan, from Ears 2 You 2, started making jewelry in the summer of 2011.  She was inspired one day when she realized there was never the right pair of earrings to wear with an outfit, and since she loves to create things, she decided to create her own earrings.  She started out by selling them at a large yard sale in her hometown of Jacksonville, Oregon, and was successful.  Later that day her older sister suggested Etsy, and that’s how Ears 2 You 2 was created.  Something unique about her shop is that everything in it is $10; no more, no less!

I was so excited when I received this beautiful pair of earrings in the mail to review!  It was perfect timing, too, since I was just about to head out for a girl’s weekend and had the perfect outfit to wear with them.

My little guy decided he also needed to be in the picture!

I love them!  I love the colors.  I always love pink, but then I loved the mix of gray and the pearl bead.  Pearl is my birth stone, so I’m always drawn to it.  They were the perfect length and weight for me and are very well put together.

Meagan also has several other beautiful earrings to choose from.  Here are a few of my other favorites from her shop.

Giveaway:

8) Add the Ears 2 You 2 shop to your favorites.  Please leave your Etsy name.

9) Add your favorite item from Ears 2 You 2 to your favorites list.  Please leave your Etsy name.

I Pinned It - I Tried It - I Liked It!

The pin that started it all:

Source: etsy.com via Cassie on Pinterest

You might recognize this pin from Pinterest Monday a couple weeks ago.  Well, after having it pinned for several months, I finally decided it was time to make it!  And I love the way it turned out!  The pin just goes to an Etsy shop, so I kind of figured it out on my own.

Here's what I did:

You'll need to buy a wreath and some yarn.  I already had some white and yellow, from a Halloween project I made last fall, so I decided to use that and just buy some gray yarn.  I'm really loving the gray and yellow color combo right now.

Start by hot gluing the end of each color onto your wreath.

Then just start wrapping the yarn around.  I wrapped it pretty random.  Some with several strands of the same color together, and then big gaps in between the color.  Wrap each of your three colors around until the wreath is completely covered.  Then cut the ends and hot glue them to the same side you started them on.

Now for the felt flowers.  I used this tutorial here.

First you'll cut 13 circles of each color.  1 at 3" in diameter and 12 at 2".

For your 12 smaller circles, you'll add some hot glue to the center and press them together to look like this.

Then you'll start to hot glue them to your larger circles.  You'll first glue 4 around the edge and then place the others wherever they fit in and make sure they're glued together.

Finally you'll glue them onto your wreath.  Use plenty of glue both in the middle and all around the edge.

The last thing you'll do is attach your ribbon.  You can have a bow or just a small loop.  I did the loop.  I didn't take a picture, but I just hot glued the end of the ribbon on the back of my wreath and looped it over the top and around the front, so it hangs in the back.  Use plenty of hot glue here, too.

And there you have it!  Cute, right?!

Pinterest Monday

It's time for another Pinterest Monday with Musings of a SAHM and Mama to Four Blessings!

Pinterest Monday From Musings From A Stay At Home Mom

So I've been trying to grow my hair long for about a year and a half and it's just not growing nearly fast enough.  I've been seeing a lot of super cute short summer cuts on Pinterest and more and more am debating on if I just want to cut it.

How cute are these?

But, on the other hand, I see pics like this and just want my hair to hurry up and grow faster so I can do these cute long curly looks.

TBPNC - Week 4

Week 4 of the challenge was Hugo.

The plot via Wikipedia:

"Hugo is a 2011 American 3D adventure drama film based on Brian Selznick's novel The Invention of Hugo Cabret about a boy who lives alone in a Paris railway station."

The movie was cute.  It was slow at times, though.  I actually have to admit I dozed off a few times.  Whoops!  But it was cute.  I'm curious how it was in the theaters in 3D.  Maybe that would have kept it more interesting at times.

{Review} Ultronics Hourglass Jewelry Cleaner

I love getting my ring cleaned.  There’s really nothing better than seeing it look all sparkly new again.  However, who wants to go to the jewelry store just for a ring cleaning?  Not me.  So I decided it was time to get an at home jewelry cleaner.

After some searching on Amazon, I decided to order the Ultronics Hourglass Jewelry Cleaner.  Now, I’ve only used it once, but so far I think it’s a winner!

The kit includes the hourglass, a 2 oz. cleaning concentrate, and a plastic tweezers to remove your jewelry.  All you need to do is fill the hourglass half way with water, add 1/4 oz. of the cleaning solution, close the lid tightly and flip the hourglass over to mix the solution.  Flip it over again, add your jewelry, close the lid again, and then flip the hourglass over to begin cleaning.  Repeat as necessary.

Once you're satisfied it's clean, use the plastic tweezers to remove your jewelry, rinse it off and pat dry.

It says you can use that solution until visibly dirty.  Since I've only used it just the once, I can't say yet how long that will be.  But since you only use 1/4 oz, there's at least 8 more refills in it.

This was really so easy and super quick to do.  It really takes just a minute!  I'm very satisfied with my purchase and happy to have my ring looking sparkly clean again!

TBPNC - Week 3

Week 3 of the challenge was The Tree of Life.

The plot via Wikipedia:

"The Tree of Life is a 2011 American drama film with experimental elements written and directed by Terrence Malick and starring Sean Penn, Brad Pitt, and Jessica Chastain. Malick's film chronicles the origins and meaning of life by way of a middle-aged man's childhood memories of his family living in 1950s Texas, interspersed with imagery of the origins of the universe and the inception of life on Earth."

Ok, where do I begin?  I'll just say we didn't make it half way through this movie before we had to turn it off.  It was really hard to watch.  It was constantly switching from one scene to another, without any of them making any sense.  And then things got really weird.  I'm not even really sure what was going on.  We kept saying let's give it a few more minutes, and then a few more, waiting for it to get better.  But it didn't.  I don't know, maybe we were missing something, but I didn't get it.  I'm not sure how it was nominated for Best Picture, but apparently somebody liked it.

Have any of you seen it?  What did you think?

TBPNC - Week 2

Week 2 of the challenge was Midnight in Paris.

The plot via Wikipedia:

"Midnight in Paris is a 2011 romantic comedy film written and directed by Woody Allen. The plot centers on a small group of Americans visiting the French capital for business and pleasure. The protagonist, a screenwriter, is forced to confront the shortcomings of his relationship with his fiance and their divergent goals due to his magical experiences in the city beginning each night at midnight. The movie explores themes of nostalgia and modernism."

We both liked this one as well.  It really made me want to go to Paris, even more than I already did!  We both agreed we liked Moneyball a little better, but it's still definitely
                                                             worth watching.
